Terms & Conditions

 

General

The Owner offers the property specified on the booking form for holiday rental subject to confirmation to the renter (“the Client”)

The rental period shall commence at 4.00pm on the first day and finish at 10am on the last day. The Owner shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the time stated and the Client shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated

The maximum occupancy is six. The number of guests must not exceed that specified on the booking confirmation. Should guests’ details change, the Client must inform the Owner of the new details by email before arrival

The Client agrees to not act in a way which would cause disturbance to residents in neighbouring properties or the Owner

The Client shall report to the Owner without delay any breakages, any defects in the property or breakdown in the equipment, plant, machinery, appliances or soft furnishings/linens in the property. Arrangements will be made by the Owner for repair and/or replacement as soon as is practicable

 

Payment

To reserve the property, after checking its availability, the Client should complete and sign the booking form before returning it with payment (or payment confirmation if paying by bank transfer) of the initial deposit (30% of total rent due) within 7 days. On receipt of the deposit, the Owner will send an email to the Client with a booking form for completion and will include arrival details and directions

The balance of the rent is payable to the owner a minimum of 8 weeks before the arrival date. Any chargeable expenses or taxes arising during the rental period will need to be settled locally with the owner before departure

 

Local Tourist Taxes

These are payable to the local Mayor’s office at a rate of €0.77 per adult (18years+) per day (correct for 2020). The total amount due for your party/length of stay will be deducted from the security deposit before repayment

 

Security Deposit

The security deposit of £350 (or 350€) is payable in cash on arrival at the property. It will be refunded in full within 14 days of departure, provided that the following provisions are met:

  • No damage is done to the property or any of its contents, beyond normal wear and tear

  • No charges are incurred due to illegal activity, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay

  • All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in rubbish bin as detailed in the house manual and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned

  • The property is left in a clean and tidy condition (exactly as found on arrival) at the end of the rental period.

  • All keys are returned to the owner and the property is left locked

  • All additional charges accrued during the stay have been paid prior to departure

  • No linens/towels are lost or damaged

  • No early arrival or late departure

  • The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or local law enforcement

 

Cleaning

Cleaning is not included in the rental price. The property must be left completely cleaned (exactly as on your arrival) prior to departure - full details are provided in the house manual in the property. Should cleaning be required after your departure and prior to the arrival of the next guests, a one-off fee of €100 will be deducted from the deposit.

 

Cancellations

The deposit is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation or change to the length of stay within 8 weeks of arrival date, any fees paid will not be refunded. We strongly recommend that the Client obtains comprehensive travel insurance to cover all members of their party for accident, medical, loss of personal possessions, holiday cancellations etc. These are not covered by the Owner’s insurance

 

Insurance

We strongly recommend that guests obtain adequate and comprehensive travel insurance to cover all members of their party for accident, medical, loss of personal possessions, holiday cancellation etcetera

 

Inclusive fees

Rates include a one-time bedding and towel set up. Linens and towels should not be removed from the gite. Beach towels will be made available for use by the pool. If your stay is for more than 7 nights, bed linen and towels are replaced on a weekly basis

There is no daily housekeeping or cleaning service

Utilities

April – September: All utilities are included in rental price.

October – March: Electricity will be charged at cost and a meter reading will be taken on arrival and departure.

 

Services

The Owner shall not be liable to the Client for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of Public Services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property. For any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the control of the owner. For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused or suffered by the Client if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in such event, the Owner shall, within 7 days of notification to the Client, refund all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period

Under no circumstances shall the Owner’s liability to the Client exceed the amount received for the rental period

 

Falsified bookings

Any booking obtained under false pretence will be subject to forfeiture of deposit and/or rental money and the party will not be permitted to check in

 

Parking

Parking is limited to two (2) vehicles. Camper vans/caravans permitted only with prior written agreement of the Owner

 

Welcome booklet

A detailed welcome booklet is provided within the property to help make your stay enjoyable. The Client undertakes to read the booklet and follow all requirements for use of the facilities and appliances provided.

 

Sewage/ waste water

The property is on a mains system. The system is very effective, however it will clog up if inappropriate materials are flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products or moist toilet wipes shall be flushed at any time. If it is found that any prohibited items have blocked the system, you could be charged damages of up to £250

 

Swimming pool

The swimming pool will be open between the last week in May and last week of September. It will be available during the hours of 10.00am and 8.00pm (or one hour before sunset, whichever is the sooner) to allow for cleaning and maintenance of the pool and surround area. The pool is private, designed for the Owner’s family use. The Owner grants access to the pool only to the Client and the named members of his/her party. Parents must ensure that their children respect the rules of hygiene, security and peaceful enjoyment. Use of the pool is entirely at the Client’s own risk

In the case of breach of these conditions, the Owner reserves the right to refuse access to the pool

 

Smoking

This is a No Smoking property. Smoking is not allowed inside the property or in the pool area. During times of drought it may be necessary to ban smoking from anywhere on the property

 

Pets

Pets are permitted on the property with prior disclosure and arrangement with the owners of the property, they are not permitted to be left un attended in the gite whilst guests are off site.  Pets are not allowed in the pool area under any circumstances. Guest must pick up the Pets toilet bag it and bin it in the provided dustbin at the top of the drive. Should there be any evidence of damage by your pets stay you will forfeit the repair/replacement of item and clean-up cost from your deposit.
